RBCA Closes Office But Our Conservation Effort Continues

Some of you may have noticed recently that the RBCA signs are no longer hanging at the Phoenix Building, where our office has been located for several years. In an effort to decrease administrative costs, the board made the decision to move out at the end of November. The realization that a majority of our fundraising money was being spent on rent made the decision relatively easy. We would much rather spend it on programs and projects that benefit the community as a whole. So although we don’t have an official physical location, we are still available by all the same methods. You can still leave us a message at 224-4621, send an email to info@rbca-alaska.org, or mail us at Box 1092. We’ll be checking them all regularly.

You may have also heard that our long time employees Ami Wright & Matt Gray moved to Oregon this fall (although only temporarily we are happy to say). They will certainly be missed but their projects will continue. RBCA is in the early stages of the process to rehire for their positions. In the meantime, the CEMP program will continue thanks to some dedicated & much appreciated volunteers. The schoolyard habitat project will be kicking up dust again this summer so look for opportunities to help volunteer. It’s amazing what’s been done already!

Thanks to all that attended, donated & volunteered at the Beer & Wine Event! It was a great success & we couldn’t have done it without you. If you missed out & would like to donate to RBCA or become a member, it’s easy to do on our website. You can also donate when you file for your
PFD through Pick, Click, Give. Help support the programs that are improving our community. We are also always looking for volunteers so if you are interested, please contact us. We’d be happy to utilize your energy and skills!
