Bear-Resistant Electric Fence Rebate
The Alaska Beacon published a very informative story about the success of electric fences for deterring bears and the Defenders of Wildlife rebate (up to $500) if you buy an electric fence!

*Read through the Got Bears? on the Defenders of Wildlife website *Purchase your supplies and build your electric fence *Keep and make copies of your receipts *Take photographs of your electric fence – photos of fencing/items must match your receipts *Submit W-9 (1st page only), copy of receipts, photographs, and application to the Defenders of Wildlife *Your application will be reviewed by Defenders of Wildlife staff and will either contact you for more information or submit a reimbursement check to you.
